august 2017
bitter/sweet is a 3-part music mix project released between July and August 2017. The three parts are (in order): way too many feels, dreaming with my eyes open & sound of walking away. The goal of the project was to 1) try mixing music for the first time after years of pushing it off and 2) craft a narrative of a naive romance from end-to-end.
The three mixes* serve as an arc for three different stages of a relationship—novelty, love, and heartbreak. Within each mix, the progression is illustrates a deeper dynamic through each phase of the relationship. I welcome you to listen through the project with intention & without distraction to create your own interpretation.
